Be Cautious With New Mutual Fund Share Class For Retirement Accounts
First employed with 401(k) plans, the retirement share class is being offered for mutual funds to be held in individual retirement accounts.
The concern is that, although the fee structure of this share class is attractive initially, the asset based fees range from .35% to .75% annually ad infinitum. That compares with a typical .25% annual fee for Class A (upfront commission) fund share class.
