Giacchetto, Financial Advisor to the Stars, Charged with Securities Fraud
Dana Giacchetto’s clients included Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Courtney Cox and rock band Phish, some members of the B-52s and the Smashing Pumpkins, and Hollywood agent Michael Ovitz.
Giacchetto is charged with illegally transferring $20 million of his clients’ money, stealing about $6 million of that amount and lying to the SEC.
Giacchetto’s advisory firm, Cassandra Group, is closing down, but there remains $4 million in clients’ money that remains unaccounted.
